I am not really computer savvy, but I can do enough to get me in trouble and crash my computer. I need to be picky about what I do or download. My hard drive died last year and since that I have become paranoid about web sites and downloads.
Anyway, I decdied I needed more memory. I only had 256mb adn my computer is at least 5 years old. I was worried at first. Then I just dove into the situation. I bought the memory module locally (a good thing) and followed all the instructions. But, my memory capacity wasn't increasing. I tried about 5 times, then called the guy i bought it from. He suggested everything I already did. He then said to bring the computer in with the memory module and he would see what the problem was, "for Free". YES!!!! Drove over and took it in the store. He checked it out and found the new memory module was bad. YES!!!! I wasn't me. He then added another new module and it all worked.
I got home and was soooooooo happy. More memory, faster computer (yes it was faster) and I felt like a kid with a new toy. I really am glad I added the memory. Because I do a lot of photos, I don't feel like I am going to overload my computer now.
The memory module didn't cost as much as I thought. He was only a couple bucks higher than any online place. Plus, with the problem, it was fixed immediately instead of having to mail back a module and wait to see what the company would do. Because I live in a small town, I was surprised there was even anyone close enough. Actually he is only one of two in the town. The other guy didn't answer his phone, His loss.
That is my tale of memory upgrade..
What's your favorite thing about Sunday?
The Newspaper.
Wow, yesterday was some day. I was surfing away at the internet and my computer shut down. What is going on, I wondered. So, turned back on and checked my security, nothing going on there. So, I went back to surfing. Short time later, down again.
Now, I live in Central Florida, but it still gets hot. We are having 90 degree days and 68 degree nights right now. Yep, it was a little warm in my comp room, but I didn't think much about it at the time.
It wasn't until about the third time it shut down, that I thought about the heat. I checked the tower and it was warm? Actually, more than warm. So, I left it shut down for a while and went and got a floor fan from the other room. Set that up and angled it to the computer tower. Actually, I moved the tower to a more open space at the same time. Did a little dusting while it was off. All nice and clean and cool now. No more problems.
So, this is a reminder to keep your computer cool and clean for better performance. I guess mine was a little dirty, and that probably caused it to be a little slower than usual.
So, this is Sunday, the day of rest. Now, be truthful, how many of you actuall;y "rest"? This is probably the hardest day for me to rest.
Whether or not I go to church, God and Jesus are always in my mind. But, I love music and have always loved the old hymns. I still have the hymnal book from my old country chapel. There is such meaning to the words you cannot help but feel the emotion.
One of my favorite, How Great Thou Art, was recently done by Carrie Undewood. Oh, what a voice. So I decided to add it here.
I know I sound religious. I am. Just not the typical church goer. I have found almost all religions have become so commercial and money oriented. Well, it is okay to donate to your church, but do not start asking me for money. I do not attend services to give money, I attend to get forgiveness and peace. I attend for the spiritual peace I receive by feeling closer the Jesus or God. But, unfortunately, being poor, I am not much accepted. I do not stay with the latest fashions, or know the great places to eat and drink. I know my clothes look bad, but they are clean. I eat at home. I drink seldom, but at home. So, now I am off my soapbox.
Have a GREAT DAY.
I own 3 beautiful dogs. 2 pit bulls and 1 long haired black retriever. The brown pit is Harley. She is about 9 years old and loves my son in law. She is a good protector, but lovable.
Roachie is now going on 14 years old. She is pure pit. (Harley is mixed) She has to be one of the most docile dogs who ever lived. Rarely does she bark. Unfortunately she is ill now and has a hard time moing around. But, let someone visit and she is right there to greet them.
I love clouds. They change so quickly at times. The feelng of floating comes if you watch long enough. I joined here and hope to see more wonderful shots. I have added a few to the photos. They are just every day clouds with not effects added.
Has anyone had a spirit visit experience? It can be very scarey and touching at the same time. I know that some think it impossible, but unless you experience it, you really wouldn't understand. Spirits can be helpful, loving, and just plain comfortable to have around.
I get visits from my husband and brother's spirits when times are stressful. It helps, because I know that they are there to comfort and encourage me. The visit may just be fleeting or last for a couple seconds. The smell of my husband's aftershave is the best. My brother usually whispers my name.
I know that some people believe that spirits come from the devil, but that is just not true. Most spirits come from God. Maybe a few from the devil, but that was their choice. How can someone you loved and cherished, be a spirit from the devil when there is only good around them?
I know that they are watching over me and that is comforting. To know that when I go Home, I will be with them makes this life easier.
There, that is out. Thank you.
What personality trait has gotten you in the most trouble?
Telling it like it is. Cannot seem to know when to hold back or just speak. However, by now most friends know my faults.
What are you most looking forward to this weekend?
Everyone going out of town and letting me have peace and quiet. YES!!!
Do you believe in ghosts? If so, have you ever seen one?
Of course I believe in ghosts. I had the experience of the presence when I was younger. Being younger, I ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction. Fear outweighed curiosity then. Hoping to have the experience again.
Ahhh, what a precious face. read more
